November Market Action Report

Friends and Clients,

First, we wish for you all the joys of this holiday season and rich blessings for the year to come. Many of us are in the thick of shopping and giving, decorating and creating, parties and fun, family and friend times, and feasting. Winter is just days away. It is a special time of the year and we hope it brings refreshment to you!

The November reports are out. After exceptional October numbers, the November’s numbers had farther to fall to the seasonal norms; they dropped substantially. However, the 5 year graph of closed sales for November (the Portland metro area) shows a clear trajectory of improvement at this time every year. The year-to-date numbers for 2014 are also improved over 2013. The market is healthier and more balanced and broad-based than it has been for 7 years since the top of the market, fortunately without all the systemic problems which were then present.

We continue to expect good winter sales. We look forward optimistically knowing January will bring an impressive surge of online activity. The downtime of the holidays, and the forward focus of the New Year’s Day, translate into people planning their next year, their job status, travel dreams, and their real estate sales and purchases for 2015. It begins with a roar on the 2nd day of the year. We are ready for it and welcome a year that should be kinder to our sellers and still rewarding to our buyers.

We have also been planning and dreaming. Our best time to work on our business is in the fall months and we are currently implementing many new and improved processes and plans for our clients in 2015. We have come from our genesis in early 2007 to the top of the market and an industry leader in Oregon’s wine region and all of the greater Yamhill County area.  We relentlessly pursue improvement in our services, our competency, and our relationships- this year is no exception. We know those who rest on their laurels degenerate; those who strive constantly, discipline themselves and excel are rewarded.
